Bentley Community (UKI) Mission Statement

The Bentley Community ‘BC(UKI)’ is a partnership of individuals involved in the use of the Bentley Systems suite of CAD & CAD related software. These individuals are all striving together to maintain and strengthen the understanding, use and development of MicroStation based Computer Aided Design technology in the design process.

The aims of BC(UKI) are to:
• stimulate interaction between all users, suppliers and developers of Bentley software
• encourage discussion and the sharing of views and ideas
• to overcome problems and influence the future direction of development
• provide a channel for feedback from these discussions directly to Bentley.

To achieve all of the above we work closely with, but operate independently of, Bentley and their MicroStation premier partners and solution centres to organise the following:

A winter conference together with our AGM:
• this event is organised and run by the committee and the staff of the BC(UKI) office
• updated information on Bentley products, current issues and future direction
• the presentations are mainly given by experienced users and application experts
• Bentley representatives are available for in-depth technical input
• we get full support from third party resellers and developers.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs):
• usually evening events, hosted and run by members of the BC(UKI) committee
• free to members, with a nominal charge for non-members
• used to promote cross-discipline and national involvement
• these events help raise awareness of other users in similar situations
• form personal links between users in different companies

Special Events:
• usually in conjunction with other organisations with similar aims
• events can be conferences, seminars or exhibitions
• these focus on presentations of new software and developments
• participation is encouraged from users willing to share their knowledge and experiences.

We are very keen to receive news, views, opinion and content from members.

There are Bentley Communities in the USA, Europe and throughout the World.
