GenerativeComponents trial subscription now available

The Generative Components trial is now available for download. This is a 90 day free trial.
Early in 2008 a "Discovery Subscription" of GenerativeComponents is going to be available for $250 per year over a 2 year term. This is still in preparation so full details are not being released yet.

The current trial can be downloaded as a complete packaged installer including the MicroStation XM Pre-requisites, MicroStation XM, Triforma XM and GC itself. This is a 481Mb download. Unless you are familiar with configuring MicroStation, I would recommend using this package to install GC parallel to any existing XM installations.

Bentley have confirmed that future standalone releases of GC will not contain the complete builds of MicroStation and Triforma XM. So in the meantime the 90 day trial is a good way for people who download GC to also have a go with MicroStation!

Support for the GC trial is via the new BE Community website, http://community.be.org where you will find discussion forums, blogs, wikis and other resources. The trial includes access to new GC training material from Bentley Institute so it is worth going through the BE Community registration.

BE Community is still in beta, it is not clear when the official launch will be yet but it's a fair bet that this will be in good time for the 2008 BE Conferences.
